This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to the day-to-day numbers and likes working in a business where finance is genuinely valued. You will be looking after the core finance function, keeping everything running smoothly, and giving the leadership team clear, useful information to help them make good decisions. The role is hybrid, with time split between home and the London office.
As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance activity across the business. That means keeping on top of cash flow, invoicing, reporting, payments and the general financial rhythm of the company. It would suit someone who is confident working independently, happy rolling their sleeves up, and comfortable being the go-to person for finance in a small business environment.
Your role will involve:
- Managing day-to-day finance operations
- Keeping a close eye on cash flow and upcoming payments
- Raising and managing client invoices
- Chasing outstanding payments in a friendly, professional way
- Preparing regular finance reports for the leadership team
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Managing supplier payments and internal expenses
- Reconciling accounts and keeping records accurate
- Working with external accountants where needed
- Helping improve finance processes as the business grows
We need you to have:
- Experience in a Finance Manager, Senior Finance Officer, Bookkeeper or similar role
- Confidence managing invoicing, cash flow and reporting
- Good knowledge of accounting systems and spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail
- A practical, organised approach to getting things done
- The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
- Experience working in a small business, agency, consultancy or creative environment would be useful
- A calm and proactive style, someone who spots what needs doing and gets on with it
The package includes:
- 4 days per week
- Hybrid working with a London office base
- Friendly, collaborative team
- Broad ownership of the finance function
- Direct access to the leadership team
- Scope to improve systems and processes
- A role where your work will have a visible impact
