We are working with a boutique branding and design agency based in London that is looking for an Account Manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has built their experience in a branding, design or creative agency and enjoys being close to the client, the project and the creative process. You will be joining a small, collaborative team that works across brand strategy, identity, design and digital projects for a range of B2B clients. The agency has a strong reputation for thoughtful, strategic work and is looking for someone who can help keep client relationships strong, projects organised and delivery running smoothly.
This is not a purely project management role and it is not a purely client services role. It sits nicely between the two. You will be the person making sure clients are well looked after, the internal team has clarity, timings are managed properly, and projects move forward in the right way.
The role
As Account Manager, you will act as a key day-to-day contact for clients, building strong relationships and making sure they feel supported, informed and confident throughout the process. You will work closely with strategists, designers, digital specialists and senior members of the team to help deliver branding, design and digital projects on time, on budget and to a high standard. This role would suit an experienced Account Manager, or a Senior Account Executive who is ready to step up, as long as you have solid experience within a branding agency environment.
You will need to be confident managing client communication, keeping projects organised, spotting potential issues early and knowing when to bring senior people into conversations around scope, budget, delivery or client relationships.
What you will be doing
- You will manage day-to-day client communication, acting as a calm, clear and reliable point of contact.
- You will support client onboarding, kick-off meetings and project set-up, making sure clients understand how the agency works and what to expect.
- You will prepare meeting agendas, write up clear notes, capture actions and make sure next steps are followed through.
- You will help plan and coordinate client projects, keeping timelines, approvals, milestones and actions up to date.
- You will work closely with the internal team to make sure everyone understands what needs to happen, when it is needed and what the client is expecting.
- You will create and maintain project boards, helping to keep work organised and visible across the team.
- You will draft Statements of Work for smaller and mid-sized projects, and support senior team members on larger pieces of work.
- You will help create clear internal briefs, making sure creative and strategic teams have the right information to work from.
- You will monitor project progress, time spent and budgets, helping to protect profitability and flagging any risks early.
- You will support with costings, invoicing and project administration where needed.
- You will spot opportunities within existing client accounts and share these with the wider team.
- You will support new business activity where required, including proposal coordination, RFP reviews and pulling together relevant information.
- You may also support with light research, competitor reviews and preparation for strategy workshops.
What we are looking for
Branding agency experience is essential for this role. You will likely have around 2 to 5 years’ experience in an account management, client services or client-facing role. You will understand how branding and design projects are delivered, from initial brief through to strategy, creative development, approvals and final delivery. You will be confident managing clients, building relationships, handling expectations and communicating clearly both verbally and in writing. You will be highly organised and comfortable managing multiple projects, clients, deadlines and priorities at the same time. You will have experience using project management tools and keeping project information accurate and up to date. You will have a good level of commercial awareness, including an understanding of time, budgets, profitability and scope. You will be proactive, curious and calm under pressure, with the confidence to ask the right questions and flag issues before they become bigger problems. You will have a genuine interest in branding, design, strategy, digital and how strong creative work helps businesses grow.
This role could suit someone who is currently a:
- Account Manager
- Senior Account Executive
- Client Services Manager
- Client-facing Project Manager
- Brand Account Manager
- Creative Account Manager
