Job Purpose
To use your knowledge and skills to deliver a first‑class service to our clients and provide accounts and audit support to a busy accountancy practice.
Duties
- Oversee client bookkeeping
- Manage and take responsibility for own portfolio of clients
- Preparation of complex company financial statements
- Preparation of interim management accounts
- Preparation of personal tax returns
- Preparation of partnership accounts and returns
- Review and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Forecasts and business projections (not essential)
- Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
- Train members of staff and allocate duties
- Company Secretarial duties (desirable)
- Preparation of P11ds (desirable)
- Payroll experience (desirable)
- Any other general accountancy or administrative work as required

Skills and Experience
- At least 4 years working in an accountancy practice environment
- Experience of Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks (essential)
- Iris and Sage Business Cloud (advantage)
- Strong attention to detail

- Exceptional communication skills with a good telephone manner
- Good written and technical skills
- Strong prioritisation and organisation skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Strong record‑keeping skills
- Willing to put in extra paid hours as and when required
Qualifications
ACA/ACCA qualified (or close to completion).
