What will you be doing in the role? You will be an important part of member of the audit and assurance team within SMH Group. Working closely with the directors and fieldwork teams, you will manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring a high quality audit is delivered to clients in a timely and efficient manner. You will be part of our wider strategy for growth, with opportunities for business development and tendering for new work, and to contribute to our service line development. You will be a leader within our audit team, providing guidance and management to our fieldwork teams.
Job Purpose:
- Manage a growing portfolio of audit clients in various sectors, including delivering high quality audit assignments to a timely and efficient manner to the directors.
- Ensure all audits comply with regulatory and professional standards.
- Working with the directors and audit senior, plan audits, assess risks, and develop audit programs tailored to each client.
- Owning client relationships, supporting existing clients and new clients, to provide excellent client care.
- Taking responsibility for managing budgets, billing and recoveries to deliver targets.
- Coaching juniors and providing constructive feedback on the quality of their work and performance to promote best practice.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of audit processes and quality.

Skills and Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Experience of audit software (MyWorkpapers experience would be ideal).
Qualifications:
- ACA, ACCA qualified with a strong background in practice.

- Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience.
- 37.5 hours per week Mon-Friday 09.00am – 5.30pm (Hours may vary and travel would be required for audit visits).
- Flexible working around core hours (10.30am – 4.00pm) when in office.
- 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase up to 5 additional days.
