- Location & Hybrid Working: 1 day a week in our London office
The role
We are looking for a Conceptual Creative to join our Creative Team at SMG. In this role, you will be responsible for helping improve the creative output and make the most of every conceptual opportunity that comes our way. You will be involved in delivering well-thought-through, beautifully art directed/designed ideas across a whole spectrum of consumer touch points such as in-store, OOH, print and social to name a few, and will be adept at turning strategic and brand visions into great creative solutions. Our creative offering is still evolving, so you will need to be both an explorer and an entrepreneur.
You will be a creative storyteller who understands the importance of having an idea at the centre of every piece of work. You’re probably from an art direction or design background. But not necessarily. What’s more important is that you’re from an ideas background.

- Experienced working as a Conceptual Creative in a fast-paced marketing, digital or media agency environment – or similar.
- Can share a portfolio of conceptual examples across multimedia channels – produced for agencies and brands.
- Consider both visual and messaging when conceptualising creative ideas.
- The ability to manage your time and prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met.
- Independently motivated but can also play your part in a collaborative team environment.
- Driven by creative excellence with an expectation of delivering the best possible work, no matter the project size or budget.
- A confident and engaging communicator with the ability to articulate and present work internally and externally.
- Comfortable working in Adobe Creative Suite; InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- As comfortable producing scamps and mood boards to communicate an idea, as Mac visuals.
- Understanding that briefs that are data driven can help you be more creative by providing insights that inspire new campaigns.
- Building your knowledge in creative platforms, Ai and software, knowing exactly how to use these to complement creativity.

What you\’ll be doing
We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here\’s an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:
- Supporting the Creative Director in concepting, designing and delivering top conceptual solutions for SMG clients.
- Taking the lead on conceptual projects.
- Working closely with other departments and stakeholders to achieve great creative objectives.
- Being involved in a project from the concept stage, which might be scamps to final mocked-up versions.
- Creating, art directing and writing (messaging) effective concepts that are on brief, on time and on budget.
- Thinking strategically to create ideas that turn business problems and brand visions into reality with creative proposals of the highest standard.
