Role Summary

We are looking for a creative and culturally aware Social Media Intern to support the growth of FAT Karting League through engaging digital content and community engagement across social media platforms. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social media, youth culture, and content creation who wants hands-on experience within a fast-growing motorsport and lifestyle brand. You will support content planning, content capture, trend research, community engagement, and live event coverage while working closely with the Brand Lead and wider marketing team. This role would suit someone looking to gain hands-on experience in social media, content creation, and brand marketing alongside their studies or other professional commitments. The role offers exposure to live events, brand campaigns, content production, and digital audience growth within an ambitious and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Content & Channel Growth
    • Support the planning, creation, scheduling, and publishing of content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms
    • Assist in writing captions, social copy, and marketing content tailored to each platform
    • Contribute creative ideas for content series, trends, campaigns, and audience engagement
    • Help identify opportunities to grow audience reach, engagement, and brand awareness
    • Stay up to date with platform updates, creator trends, and evolving social behaviours
  • Content Creation & Event Coverage
    • Support content capture during races, events, activations, and behind-the-scenes moments
    • Assist with short-form video editing and content repurposing for social channels
    • Capture photo and video content aligned with the FAT Karting League brand identity
    • Support live social coverage during events where required
  • Community Engagement
    • Interact with the FAT Karting League audience across social platforms
    • Respond to comments, direct messages, and community interactions in line with brand tone of voice
    • Help foster an engaged and positive online community around the brand
  • Reporting & Performance Insights
    • Assist in monitoring and analysing social media performance metrics
    • Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve content performance and channel growth
    • Support reporting on engagement, reach, audience growth, and content effectiveness

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Studying, recently graduated, or early in your career within Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, or a related field OR 1–2 years of experience in social media, content creation, or brand marketing
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and social media culture
  • Strong written communication and copywriting skills
  • Basic design skills using Figma or Canva
  • Creative mindset with a strong eye for storytelling and engaging content
  • Good understanding of current internet trends and youth culture
  • Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for motorsport, youth brands, entertainment, or community-driven culture
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and get hands-on

Desirable

  • Content capture and editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, etc.)
  • Experience managing or growing social media accounts
  • Experience with LinkedIn content
  • Experience shooting content on iPhone or camera equipment
  • Previous community management experience
