If you’re reading this you will probably know that floods can cause a lot of problems for people and properties. This is your chance to help prevent this.

You’ll be looking at Flood Risk Assessments and Sustainable drainage design for new developments across the south of England; detailing how best to mitigate the flood risk and prevent damage, and ensuring that the risk is not being increased downstream, or directed onsite.

Most types of developments outside the Environment Agency Flood Zone 1, or over 1ha in size, will require a Flood Risk Assessment – so there is plenty of work.

You’ll be working with data, using drainage modelling software, preparing reports, and assisting with on-site surveys.

You’ll be working for what is effectively a start-up, though it is linked to a bigger business that is in a different location. You’ll be learning on the job, and will be handling new tasks as your role develops. You’ll be given a lot of responsibility.

Your Manager has years of related experience, and is a great person to learn from; he has successfully developed other graduates previously.

There are big plans to grow and develop the team – which means great career prospects for you. And you’ll also be working towards various accreditations, so you can become an acknowledged expert in your field.

The office is in the Farringdon area of London. There is an interchange station nearby, with Underground, Elizabeth line, and Thameslink access.
