Graduate Field Service Engineer

Graduate Field Service Engineer

Full-Time No home office possible
S

If you are an Engineering graduate who enjoy hands on-work, travelling to different sites, and solving problems, then this could be a great role for you,

You’ll be working with large material handling equipment, which is used for a variety of purposes. For example production lines in factories; buckets to transport powders; or for moving items in warehouses and logistics centres.

You will be visiting the companies that use these, mainly to do planned maintenance and servicing. And sometimes to fix breakdowns, though these don’t tend to happen often as the equipment is of a high quality.

There will be plenty of technical problems to solve.

Your boss will let you know where your jobs are, and these can vary week to week. You’ll be covering the UK, but most will be in England, including Lancashire and Yorkshire.

You’ll make sure that work is done to a high quality, and ensure that health and safety procedures are followed.

You’ll take pride in your work, and will be able to make suggestions if you feel any processes could be improved.

While you are training, you will be going to jobs with an experienced engineer, and learning from them. In time, you will be working on your own, though there will always be some jobs where someone else will be with you.

Please note that there will be some physically demanding work, such as lifting.

HOURS

Core hours are during the day, Monday to Friday; but you will also be doing some nights, and occasional weekends. And there will be regular nights away where you stay in an hotel. If you are looking for a 9-5 office based role, then this is not for you.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

A salary of between £32,000 to 35,000 depending on experience, plus paid overtime when you work extra hours.

Benefits include:

  • employee assistance programme
  • life and medical insurance
  • profit share scheme

And you’ll get a tablet, mobile phone, and company van.

You will also have continued professional development, and will work towards further qualifications and accreditations.

LOCATION

You will be based from home, and an ideal location would be Stoke, Leicester, or Nottingham, or any of the areas in between.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Your degree should have some relation to mechanical engineering. You’ll need a driving licence, and to be happy spending a lot of time in your vehicle travelling to jobs.
