We’re looking for a Lecturer in Horticulture to join our team at Loughborough College Group. The formal grounds at Brooksby are well resourced with ornamental plant displays, a wide range of plant types and many ornamental, decorative, horticultural features that are used extensively for student practicals, along with our industry standard glasshouses.

We have a unique opportunity for a Horticulture specialist to join the college at Brooksby and be part of our journey to become a Lecturer at a leading Land-based provider. As a Horticulture Lecturer you will have the ability to deliver across the full range of the department’s provision. Specific subject areas will include decorative and production horticulture with emphasis on amenity and landscape areas as well as an interest in garden design. The ability to teach applied subjects, in particular plant and soil science, is also necessary as is good plant knowledge and nomenclature.

These are really exciting times in Horticulture and a growing demand from school leavers and adults to study in this career path. Our students are also involved with the local community and external projects as time allows, as well as undertaking relevant and meaningful work experience.

Working as part of the Land-based team you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. You should possess an excellent knowledge and understanding of Horticulture and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques. You should also have relevant and up-to-date contact with horticultural industry professionals and organisations.
