We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Stephenson College. You will be required to plan, prepare and deliver high quality and challenging learning experiences across a range of topics within Construction including theory and practical, to help students develop practical skills and achieve their qualifications. You will have a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment to meet the needs of diverse learners and provide constructive feedback and guidance to help them achieve their goals.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Support learners through their programme and the specific qualification aims within.
  • Write schemes of work and lesson and review plans.
  • Devise and implement a learning and assessment plan for each individual learner.
  • Devise and produce materials for use by learners.

What we are looking for:

  • Possess a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or be willing to work towards.
  • Competent to minimum industrial standards required to perform the area of teaching.
  • Have recent experience of working in the industry.
  • Have up to date knowledge of the subject/vocational area.
  • A relevant qualification or significant practical experience are required, and teaching and/or mentoring experience is desirable.
  • However, we are happy to consider candidates from industry with significant practical experience who are looking to get into education and will support you to obtain a teaching qualification.

To be eligible to apply for a Tier 2 visa, the role advertised will need to have an educational standard of at least A levels and the salary for the role has to be a minimum of £25,600 unless in a shortage area i.e. STEM or if you have a PhD relating to the role. EU citizens arriving into the UK after the 1st January 2021 will need to apply for a Tier 2 visa to gain right to work in the UK.
