We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Loughborough College. The Learning Support team is seeking to recruit Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to provide a range of high-quality support to learners with identified learning difficulties and/or disabilities across the working week, Monday – Friday 08:45 – 16:30.
You will support learners across a range of courses from Entry level to Level 3 / A Level who have learning difficulties and disabilities. These include Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments and Physical Impairments. The successful candidates will provide in-class support and online support to individuals and groups of learners, which includes notetaking, assisting with personal care and mobility support.
Responsibilities- To support learners in a sensitive, professional, discrete and confidential manner
- To encourage personal and academic independence, self-empowerment and self-help skills wherever possible
- To contribute to the development of individual learning programmes in liaison with Support Coordinators and course tutors
- To ensure that learners are receiving the appropriate level of support and report any issues to the Support Co-ordinators
- 12 months of experience of working with young people
- Have a sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- You must possess at least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- You will have a flexible and can-do approach; be committed to teamwork
- Have a positive approach towards all learners
- Excellent communication skills that enable you to work effectively with a range of students and staff
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake further training where identified. This role is a term time only role working 33 weeks throughout the year and follows Further Education term times.
