Role Summary The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate the seamless, efficient, and effective migration of applications from the current technology stack to a modernized platform. This includes upgrades to the latest operating systems, database versions, and associated infrastructure components. The role is pivotal in ensuring that the migration process is technically sound, strategically aligned, and executed with minimal disruption to business operations. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners and Development Leads to establish and maintain a clear, prioritized, and well-structured delivery pipeline. This includes identifying potential risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and ensuring that all deliverables align with business objectives and timelines. A key responsibility is to initiate and manage Agile ceremonies, particularly scrums, to enable cross-functional teams—including developers, testers, and infrastructure specialists—to collaborate effectively and deliver on their respective responsibilities. The role also involves championing the adoption and implementation of modern software engineering practices, including automated testing, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and DevSecOps principles. The role requires proactive management of non-production environments to ensure availability, stability, and suitability for development and testing activities. This includes promoting efficient environment sharing and ensuring that all dependencies and data prerequisites are met. Transparency and accountability are critical. The role will ensure the generation and dissemination of meaningful Management Information (MI) to provide visibility into progress, risks, and performance metrics.

Business Area The development team is seeking a highly capable and versatile Technical Scrum Master with deep expertise in Agile methodologies to support a major application migration initiative. This role is essential in driving the transformation of legacy systems into a modern, scalable, and secure technology environment. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional who is comfortable working in close partnership with a diverse range of global stakeholders, including front office teams. The role demands a strong grasp of emerging technologies and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation. A solid understanding of software development and architectural best practices is essential, as is familiarity with IT General Controls and regulatory compliance requirements. The candidate must be able to navigate complex technical landscapes while maintaining a focus on business value and strategic alignment. This role plays a critical part in delivering robust, well-designed, and technically advanced Agile solutions to business users. Working in collaboration with Product Owners, the Scrum Master will manage Agile ceremonies that support application migrations, software adaptations, vendor system integrations, and enhancements to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role contributes directly to the execution of the IT Strategy, supports revenue-generating and regulatory initiatives, and ensures that IT systems provide a competitive edge. Additionally, the role actively promotes Diversity and Inclusion across all aspects of the development lifecycle and team dynamics.

Position Description Lead and manage Agile scrums involving Developers, Testers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders. Maintain and publish comprehensive release calendars, including patches, upgrades, and disaster recovery (DR) tests. Ensure timely provisioning of non-production environments, including data setup and dependency management. Oversee the integrity of release candidates, manage scope transparently, and enforce timely code lockdowns. Develop and manage release plans, schedules, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with business requirements and budget constraints. Ensure all team members understand iteration goals, scope, estimates, and burndown charts. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with senior stakeholders. Identify and remove impediments to ensure team productivity and focus. Provide regular updates to stakeholders through direct communication, tailored reports, and JIRA dashboards. Escalate significant risks or issues related to scope, timelines, or budget to senior management. Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Sprints, and burndown tracking. Proficiency with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Familiarity with source control and release management tools (e.g., Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitHub). Strong numerical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial data and develop financial models. Experience with front office trading systems and a solid understanding of banking products and associated risks. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven experience in managing the end-to-end delivery of technical solutions aligned with strategic goals. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including front office personnel.
