This role sits within the Bank’s 2nd line of defence and as such is responsible for supporting the implementation of effective financial crime systems and controls. The successful candidate will contribute to key governance and strategic activities, including:

  • Co-ordinating and maintaining the EMEA Financial Crime Governance and Policy Framework schedule;
  • Supporting the Horizon Scanning Framework and process to identify emerging financial crime risks;
  • Assisting the Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs) and the Financial Crime SMEs in implementing and sustaining an effective Financial Crime Framework.

Primary remit: to support the development of the Financial Crime Policy and Governance Framework and to contribute towards the timely execution of key internal and/or regulatory deliverables. Secondary remit: to identify, assess, manage and escalate Financial Crime risks and take a proactive approach to the identification of solutions to ensure the program remains compliant.

We’re looking for a Financial Crime Governance AVP for our Compliance Department to join our team. This role supports the Financial Crime Governance and Strategy (FCGS) team in delivering the Financial Crime Risk Management Framework across the EMEA Division. In this role you will be responsible for working in partnership with Financial Crime SMEs and key stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of a risk-based approach by other 2nd line and 3rd line of defence stakeholders.

For you to succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail (essential);
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team (essential);
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines;
  • Good stakeholder management.
