Role Summary

We’re looking for Learning & Development Manager (Vice President) to join our team. In this role, your primary focus will be to own the EMEA technical skills portfolio of learning content and solutions with responsibility for definition, design, and deployment across the region, ensuring continued strong uptake, relevance and impact.

  • Work closely with business and HR stakeholders to define, design and implement effective, efficient and scalable L&D solutions within the technical skills portfolio and projects.
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset to ensure ongoing efficiencies and effectiveness of the learning offer whilst also enhancing the learner experience.
  • Partner effectively with stakeholders from business departments, geographies and functions across SMBC EMEA to define skill and capability needs, and collaborate to develop effective solutions.

  • Expert in learning and development across all parts of the learning cycle.
  • Strong stakeholder management capability to engage with and build relationships across the business.
  • Interest and experience in building technical skills capability at scale to meet evolving skill needs.

Position Description

Accountability & Responsibilities

  • Working closely with business and HR stakeholders to define, design and implement effective, efficient and scalable L&D solutions within the allocated skills portfolio and projects.
  • Partnering effectively with stakeholders from business departments, geographies and functions across SMBC EMEA to define skill and capability needs, and collaborate to develop effective solutions.
  • Using MI to support decision making and helping stakeholders by identifying, explaining and as appropriate actioning insights from the data.
  • Supporting the development of a culture of responsibility for learning by individuals, line managers, functions, departments and geographies.

  • Analytical - Able to interpret data, generate and communicate meaningful insights.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility at different levels, within and outside the organisation.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, visual and verbal).
  • Commercial mindset with ability to plan and manage costs within budget.
  • Confident and engaging facilitator and communicator (both virtually and in person).
  • Working knowledge of Webex platforms, LMS (Success Factors), MS Office including Power Point and MS Teams.
  • Acts with highest standards of integrity and fairness to colleagues and clients.

Experience

  • Working across all parts of the learning cycle supporting efficient and cost-effective delivery of learning interventions in support of strategic priorities.
  • Experience in creating learning solutions which support technical skills development.
  • Knowledge of the key functions and skills needed in an international financial services company is helpful, but not required.
  • Building, developing and managing networks of SMEs.
