Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Vice President for our Export development solutions department to join our team. The team is responsible for the origination, execution and distribution of the transaction with Export Credit Agency (ECA), Development Finance Institution (DFI) and Multilateral Development Banks (MDB). This role is expected to support the team under guidance by senior members of the team while it is expected to be more independent after 6 months. The candidate is expected to have relevant experience in ECA financing, good communication skills, and desirable basic German language knowledge in order to understand German ECA official documents as it is required to read documents; speaking is not essential.

Position Description
The role of the VP exists to provide support in the execution of transactions as well as marketing activities and origination of new business. The role requires strong analytical skills and will involve the review and analysis of information including customer financial statements, financial models, due diligence and legal documentation. The role also requires strong communication skills as there will be various interfaces both within the organisation (Credit, Syndications, Operations etc) as well as externally including some client-facing dealings. Main tasks include preparation of marketing materials, credit applications and associated administration work, supporting distribution activities within the bank's overall O&D program. The role also requires acting as the relationship Manager (RM) for Germanic ECAs such as Euler Hermes and SERV as well as acting as the ECA Agent by providing them the information on existing transactions as required by ECAs. The role will include a requirement to travel within the EMEA region to meet clients, ECAs, exporters and other relevant stakeholders in support of the existing business, as well as marketing, structuring and executing new transactions.
