We are looking for a Senior General Accountant based in London. Reporting to the Group Accounting Director, you will be a key member of our finance team managing a complex 12-entity international group. This role is ideal for a senior accountant who enjoys the technical challenges of multi-company consolidations and international tax compliance.
Responsibilities:- Financial Control: Lead monthly and annual closing processes for assigned group entities.
- Balance Sheet Management: Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet through rigorous analysis and reconciliation.
- Intercompany Strategy: Manage complex intercompany reconciliations and cross-border transactions.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of VAT, Corporation Tax, and other statutory requirements, partnering with local experts for global offices.
- Statutory Reporting: Prepare year-end financial statements and act as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Business Partnership: Work closely with HR for payroll accounting and various department heads to ensure accurate cutoff and reporting.
- Qualifications: Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent degree with 5+ years of experience. A background in 'Big 4' or mid-tier accounting firms is highly desirable.
- Environment: Proven track record in an international, multi-currency, and multi-entity corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level Excel and deep experience with ERP systems. You should be comfortable working independently across all accounting functions.
- Communication: Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: A proactive, 'can-do' attitude with the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced technology environment.
- Proficiency in French: is a plus.
- £57K- £60K base salary + 6% variable based on personal objectives.
