Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Perform in-depth inspections of electrical installations—including cables and substations—to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry regulations.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation, such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality reports.

Snagging & Handover

  • Lead the preparation of detailed snagging lists ahead of project handover.
  • Coordinate with site teams and contractors to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Support client walkdowns and verify that all quality-related issues are resolved prior to final acceptance.

  • Deliver clear, concise progress reports relating to quality and commissioning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and lessons learned processes.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Significant hands-on experience as a cable or substation fitter with a solid understanding of electrical installations.
  • Proven ability to create and manage comprehensive snagging lists and resolve defects efficiently.
  • Practical commissioning experience, particularly with HV/LV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., BS, IEC) and health & safety best practices.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload and priorities independently.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering.
  • Valid COMPEX, ECS/CSCS, or other relevant site certifications.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, protection relays, or control systems is an advantage.
