About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and organised Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Scotland. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you will play a key role in programme management, project reporting, document control, and site coordination, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities

  • Programme & Scheduling Support
    • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and updating of detailed construction programmes using Microsoft Project.
    • Monitor project milestones and prepare programme progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Identify programme variances, potential delays, and project risks, escalating issues to the Project Manager where appropriate.
    • Support baseline programme reviews and contribute to look-ahead planning sessions.
    • Produce Gantt charts, critical path analyses, and resource-loading reports.
  • Project Administration & Reporting
    • Maintain project trackers, action logs, risk registers, issue logs, and decision registers.
    • Compile weekly and monthly progress reports using information from site teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
    • Prepare meeting agendas, record minutes, and monitor actions through to completion.
    • Assist with cost reporting, purchase order tracking, invoice management, and commercial administration.
  • Document Control
    • Manage project documentation, ensuring drawings, specifications, technical documents, and correspondence are accurately controlled and distributed.
    • Coordinate the review and approval process for contractor submittals, RFIs, method statements, and technical documentation.
    • Maintain handover documentation registers and support the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Site Support
    • Attend site visits to support the Project Manager and gain practical exposure to construction activities and project sequencing.
    • Assist with coordinating site meetings, toolbox talks, and health & safety briefings.
    • Help maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress photographs, and inspection documentation.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline, or up to two years' experience in a project support or project coordination role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project, with the ability to build and maintain project programmes independently.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced project environment.
  • Full UK driving licence (or currently working towards obtaining one).
