We are seeking a CAD Operator to join an established EPC service provider based in Glasgow, supporting the delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects across the UK. The role will involve producing and updating a range of civil and structural drawings, including general arrangements, site layouts, drainage, and earthworks.
A key aspect of the position is the ability to interpret engineer mark-ups and survey information, transforming sketches and early-stage inputs into clear, accurate, and buildable drawings in line with project and company standards. You will also support temporary works design, including haul roads, working platforms, and access layouts, providing a strong balance between design office work and practical, construction-focused engineering input.
There will also be opportunities to attend site on a weekly basis where required, enhancing understanding of how design translates into delivery. The successful candidate will join a small, collaborative team environment, working alongside a Senior Chartered Civil Engineer and another Civil Design Technician. This structure provides strong technical guidance alongside peer-to-peer support and development.
The projects are primarily within the energy sector, offering exposure to a diverse range of infrastructure schemes rather than repetitive drafting work, with each project presenting unique engineering challenges.
We are looking for someone with a civil background and approximately 2–6 years’ experience, confident in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience advantageous, BIM knowledge beneficial), and comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
Key experience should include civil/structural modelling and drawing production such as:
- General Arrangement Drawings
- RC Detailing
- Cable Duct
