1st Line Support Engineer (including travel) Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 plus on call allowance (1 week in 5) The role is homebased, however, due to business requirements you must reside within 1.5 hours of PE29 in the event of customer call-outs. Important: The role requires being part of a 24/7 365 (1 week in 5) on call rota for critical calls – after completion of training. You must have: A full UK Driving Licence and Passport (for training purposes in France without needing a visa) Our client They are a leading force in the Computer Aided Dispatch industry, providing complete hardware and software solutions to emergency services control rooms throughout the UK. The support department is tasked with resolving customer tickets and associated frontend / backend problems in control rooms and data centres. Training courses will be delivered at their UK office in Yorkshire and Head Office in France Travel, expenses will be paid. What you will be doing: As a 1st Line Engineer, you will be supporting and maintaining the CAD application in accordance with agreed customer’s KPI’s and Service and Maintenance Contracts. You will be exposed to a broad range of cutting edge technologies running on Windows and Linux servers and workstations, including SQL, HTTP, containerisation and virtualisation. Essential Tech Skills you will need to have: Windows Expert, drivers, updates and software maintenance Cyber-security aware Hardware maintenance, e.g. drive replacement, RAM upgrade Enthusiastic and quick learner Familiarity with Powershell and BASH Desirable Tech Skills: Windows Server and Active Directory Microsoft SQL Server Networking, e.g. IP addressing, VLANs, Firewalls and Switches Experience using a ticketing system Essential non-Tech Skills: Good verbal and written communication with team members and customers Professional, presentable and punctual Be self-motivated, proactive and prioritise work Self-motivated team player, also capable of working on their own initiative Great Benefits: Full-time 40h/wk with a whopping 28 days annual leave plus stats, company pension scheme and vehicle for business use
