The predicted salary is between 40000 - 52000 £ per year.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Tester to work on a hybrid basis (3 days p/wk) in either Manchester or Newcastle upon Tyne for 6 months at approximately £520 per day (Umbrella).

You will have current SC clearance ideally or be eligible to go through SC clearance.

At this role level, you will:

  • Work closely with software developers to reach a common understanding of the code base and test coverage at unit level.
  • Collaborate with analysts to ensure the required business scenarios are covered in the acceptance test scripts.
  • Work on both functional and non-functional areas of an application.
  • Coach and mentor testers.
  • Communicate with stakeholders within and outside the organisation to coordinate test coverage and schedules.

Essential technologies:

  • Java and Spring Framework
  • Cucumber for BDD testing
  • REST APIs

Beneficial to be familiar with the following technologies:

  • Wiremock
  • Maven
  • AWS Stack, including secure cloud testing
  • Automation Testing (Selenium / JMeter / K6)
  • REST Client (Postman / Insomnia)
  • GitLab CI
  • Container environments (e.g., Kubernetes)
