You will be responsible for designing and implementing the Operations Support Systems (OSS) framework for the project. You will build a localised intelligence layer within the deployable Core Container that monitors everything from the LTE cores signal quality to the HVACs power consumption. You are responsible for ensuring that when something goes wrong in the field, the right person at the NOC gets a pre-populated trouble ticket, ideally with the exact root cause identified.
Your Focus: Manager of Managers (MoM), Event Correlation, CMDB, and Automated Ticketing
Key Responsibilities:
- Manager of Managers (MoM) Implementation
- Deployment Orchestration: Implement and maintain a localised ServiceNow platform
- Event Correlation Logic: Develop custom rules and policies to aggregate raw alarms from the LTE core, IP Routers, and Mechanical systems
- Ticketing Automation: Configure the system to automatically generate trouble tickets
- Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- Tactical CMDB Design: Design the system which tracks the live state of every component
- NOC Synchronisation: Implement the logic to trickle CMDB updates
- System Integration (Northbound/Southbound):
- Southbound Collection: Configure SNMP, Syslog, Streaming Telemetry, and API-based collectors
- Northbound Forwarding: Ensure secure, bandwidth-efficient transport of management data over Starlink/MANET backhaul
Technical Proficiency Profile:
- OSS/NMS Platforms: Expert knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Splunk, Micro Focus, or open-source equivalents).
- Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or JavaScript
- Network Protocols: Deep understanding of SNMP (v2/v3), MIBs, OIDs, NetFlow, and JSON/REST APIs.
- Linux Systems: Advanced Linux administration skills (the MoM usually runs on a hardened Linux stack).
Preferred Experience Skills:
- Experience in OSS/ITOM engineering, specifically focused on complex event correlation in high-availability environments.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience with Telco OSS (monitoring LTE/5G cores) is highly desirable.
