We're looking for an experienced Lead Developer to join a high-impact project delivering secure, resilient cloud-based services. This is a 6-month contract role based in Manchester, with 1-2 days per week on-site.
You'll play a key role in shaping technical direction, mentoring engineers, and delivering scalable solutions within a collaborative, multi-team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-based services
- Provide technical leadership, setting direction and best practices for the team
- Lead hands-on Back End development within a modern cloud ecosystem
- Guide, mentor, and coach developers to drive high-quality delivery
- Work across teams to support integration with large-scale Legacy and modern systems
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Produce and maintain technical documentation
- Champion a collaborative, cross-functional approach
- Strong hands-on experience in Back End software development
- Proven experience leading development teams or acting in a technical lead capacity
- Excellent communication skills, including engaging with non-technical stakeholders
- Expertise in:
- AWS serverless architecture
- Node.js
- TypeScript
- Experience integrating with large and complex systems
- Solid understanding of:
- Authentication and Authorization
- OIDC (OpenID Connect)
- Architecture experience
