We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Lead / Privacy Advisor to support the delivery of digital products and services. This is a hands-on, operational role requiring a pragmatic privacy professional who can provide practical advice, manage risk, and enable delivery at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of high-quality Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Produce and maintain Privacy Notices and Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs).
- Provide expert advice on UK GDPR, data protection legislation and PECR.
- Advise on analytics, cookies and tracking technologies, including lawful processing routes and consent models.
- Embed privacy by design throughout digital product delivery.
- Conduct privacy risk assessments and recommend practical mitigations.
- Work closely with business, product, delivery and technical teams to ensure compliance requirements are met.
Essential Skills Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Protection Lead, Privacy Advisor, Privacy Lead or Data Protection Consultant.
- Strong hands-on experience delivering DPIAs, RoPAs, privacy notices and risk assessments.
- Excellent knowledge of UK GDPR, data protection law and PECR.
- Experience advising on analytics, cookies, consent management and tracking technologies.
- Experience supporting digital products, digital services or technology delivery programmes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Pragmatic approach with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively across multiple projects.
Desirable
- Experience managing privacy and risk considerations relating to AI technologies.
- Experience working in agile or large-scale digital delivery environments.
Qualifications
- Ideally, candidates will hold one or more of the following:
- Data Protection Practitioner Certificate
- CIPP/E
- CIPM
- CIPT
- UK GDPR Practitioner Certificate
- Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
