Role Details:
- Provide complex diary and inbox management for SCS, balancing competing priorities to maximise available time, de-conflict appointments, and rearrange schedules, sometimes at short notice.
- Prioritise emails for the SCS and provide high-quality correspondence.
- Organise meetings, visits and other engagements with both government and external stakeholders.
- Arrange travel for the SCS, ensuring all expenses policies are adhered to and an effective itinerary is provided.
- Provide secretariat support to the directorates’ private offices, including preparing agendas, handling minutes and ensuring actions are followed up on.
- Maintain an electronic filing system, ensuring processes are up to date and in working order, handling sensitive information discreetly and in accordance with official guidance.
- Develop deep understanding of the SCS priorities to effectively flag emerging issues they should be aware of, and act where necessary to support.
- Assist with business support functions, e.g. managing external stakeholder communications, helping to organise team away days, supporting on recruitment and onboarding of new staff.

- Ability to organise a daily workload by priorities and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrable administration and support skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate concisely and coherently to a wide variety of audiences.
- Demonstrable experience of handling sensitive information, displaying tact and diplomacy and maintaining confidentiality.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
- Experience of managing a busy diary and/or inbox.
