We are seeking an experienced Application Operations Engineer to join a key public sector programme supporting the evolution of a critical forecasting platform used by Operational Meteorologists across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the OPV Vortex Support Team, supporting the rollout and ongoing operation of the Vortex platform, a modern solution that launched in 2025 and is set to replace Legacy forecasting systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage products within the Vortex platform.
  • Develop and maintain product configurations using:
    • Handlebars.js/Mustache.js for product template logic
    • Typst for product output layouts
  • Support the onboarding of new products by working closely with Product Managers, Service Delivery Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Reconfigure and enhance products following onboarding activities.
  • Manage incidents, problems and change requests through ServiceNow.
  • Monitor and maintain application services to ensure reliability, availability and performance.
  • Investigate and resolve application, service and operational issues.
