Category Manager/Commercial/Supplier relationship professional to manage complex requirements within the Public Sector.
Locations vary over the East of England, including Chelmsford, Maidstone Kent, Beds, Herts, Norfolk, Suffolk, Lewes Sussex and Cambridgeshire.
Salary: £59,000 - £69,000 pa

Hybrid/East of England (2 days a week onsite)
Must be eligible for SC clearance (minimum 5 years UK residency).
Responsibilities:
- Manage the pipeline of work for the allocated Category/Procurement Team ensuring that procurement projects are appropriately allocated to staff, based on project value, risk and complexity.
- Manage the allocation of identified suppliers to the Contract Management team, ensuring appropriate time and resource is dedicated.
- Lead and deliver 'strategic Critical' procurements.
- Lead all strategic Contract Management Supplier Relationship activity, within the allocated category, with a view to securing better value for money from contractual arrangements and ensuring the contracted benefits are delivered.
Requirements:
- Public Sector Procurement background.
- Experience in managing complex procurements.
- Able to lead and manage a team of 5.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify commercial opportunities and negotiate at the highest levels.
- Strong negotiating, influencing, interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Experience and Knowledge:
- Significant experience of procurement and commercial management in contracts of significant value across their allocated Policing category.
- Demonstrable experience of team management emphasising communication and leadership skills across different geographic locations.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of contract law and the application of EU Public Procurement Regulations and legislation.
- Proven success in working in a political environment with senior stakeholders (Chief Officer and Chief Executive level) showing sound judgment and impact.
- Experience in integrating category teams from a number of organisations into a combined service function for a group of customer organisations and aligning processes (desirable).
- Significant experience of translating business needs into commercial procurement strategies that drive enhanced business outcomes for the organisations as a whole.
- Procurement experience with a blue light organisation (desirable).
