Part-time Payroll Specialist Location: Croydon (Hybrid working available) working 30hrs per week Salary: £41k pro rata + excellent benefits
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage and process the payroll for a leading manufacturing business. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the monthly payroll, working closely with the wider HR team and Finance department to ensure compliance, accuracy and excellent employee experience.
Payroll Specialist Key Responsibilities:
- Process monthly UK payroll from start to finish, ensuring all data is accurate and submitted in line with deadlines
- Liaise with HR to ensure accurate input of starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, overtime and other pay elements
- Maintain and update payroll records in line with statutory and contractual requirements
- Coordinate with the external payroll provider to ensure smooth processing and resolution of any issues
- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC and ensure compliance with PAYE, NI and pension regulations
- Support annual processes such as P11Ds, pay review implementation and gender pay reporting
- Respond to employee queries relating to payroll and payslips in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure auto-enrolment and pension deductions are correct, and liaise with pension providers as needed
- Work closely with Finance on payroll reconciliation and reporting
- Keep up to date with UK payroll legislation and ensure internal processes remain compliant
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a Payroll Specialist role running end-to-end UK payroll, ideally in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Strong understanding of current UK payroll legislation, tax and NI regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
- Confident using payroll and HR systems
- Good Excel skills and comfortable with payroll reporting
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
