We are recruiting for a Quality & Environmental Executive to join an established QHSE and Business Compliance function within a successful technology organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2–3 years’ experience working with ISO management systems who is looking for genuine long-term career progression. Working closely with an experienced Group QHSE Manager, you will initially support the ongoing management, auditing and development of the organisation’s management systems, before taking increasing ownership over time and developing across a broad portfolio of ISO standards.

The role

You will support the ongoing development, administration and maintenance of the organisation’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems across the Group.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of ISO management systems.

- Planning, scheduling and carrying out internal management-system audits.

- Recording audit findings and ensuring corrective actions and opportunities for improvement are progressed.

- Maintaining and updating policies, procedures and management-system documentation.

- Monitoring relevant legislative, regulatory and ISO-standard changes and assessing their impact on the business.

- Supporting management reviews, compliance meetings and associated reporting.

- Supporting preparation for external certification and surveillance audits.

- Providing guidance to colleagues across the business on management-system requirements and best practice.

- Working with different business areas to ensure standards, policies and processes are consistently understood and applied.

- Developing knowledge across the organisation’s wider portfolio of ISO standards and taking progressively greater ownership as your experience grows.

The organisation operates across a broad portfolio of ISO and other management standards, providing significant scope to expand your technical knowledge and develop within the function.

About you

You will ideally have around 2–3 years’ experience within Quality, QHSE, Integrated Management Systems, Compliance or a similar environment, with practical experience of working with ISO management standards.

You will ideally have:

- Practical experience working with one or more ISO management standards, ideally with exposure across more than one.

- Experience supporting or conducting management-system audits.

- A good practical understanding of ISO standards and how their requirements translate into business processes, policies and controls.

- Experience of standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 would be particularly relevant, although experience with other recognised management-system standards will also be considered.

- Formal ISO training, an auditing qualification or other recognised ISO certificate of competence would be highly desirable, although strong practical experience will also be considered.

- Knowledge of management-system best practice.

- Strong Microsoft Office skills.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organisational and analytical ability.

- The confidence to communicate with colleagues at different levels across the business.

- A genuine desire to develop a long-term career within Quality, QHSE and Business Management Systems.

Career development

This is a genuine long-term development opportunity.

The successful individual will work closely with an experienced Group QHSE Manager, initially supporting across audits, documentation, compliance and management-system activities before taking increasing ownership of individual standards and wider responsibilities.
