Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Shop Assistant to join our team at Askham Bryan College, YO23 3FR. This is an exciting opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to work within a busy college retail environment, providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Job Description As a Shop Assistant, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the college shop, delivering an excellent customer experience while maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and stock control.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operating tills and handling cash and card transactions accurately
- Replenishing stock and maintaining attractive product displays
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages
- Assisting with deliveries and stock rotation
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the shop and surrounding areas
- Providing product information and assisting customers with queries
- Following all food safety, health and safety, and company procedures
- Supporting colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations

- 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Working hours of 7:30am - 2:30pm

Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Friendly and professional approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable and organised approach to work
- Previous retail, customer service, or catering experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
