Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team in Oxford, United Kingdom. In this permanent position, you will lead a specific station within our kitchen, overseeing food preparation, quality control, and team coordination. You will work collaboratively with our Head Chef and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety, organisation, and culinary excellence.

• Lead and manage your assigned kitchen station, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency during all service periods
• Mentor, supervise, and provide constructive feedback to junior kitchen staff assigned to your station, fostering a supportive and inclusive working environment
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and plating consistency to meet organisational standards and customer expectations
• Manage inventory, food costs, and ordering procedures for your assigned station, demonstrating analytical and goal-oriented decision-making
• Maintain meticulous cleanliness, organisation, and maintenance of your station and all equipment
• Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations, food handling protocols, and hygiene standards
• Collaborate effectively with the Head Chef, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff to support smooth kitchen operations and resolve challenges decisively
• Contribute to menu development and suggest innovative improvements based on culinary expertise, customer feedback, and market trends
• Demonstrate resilience and flexibility by adapting to changing service demands and working efficiently under pressure during peak service times
• Assist with kitchen setup, breakdown, and general mise en place as required
• Support the training and development of kitchen staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team capability

Qualifications

**Required:**

• Proven experience working as a Chef de Partie or in a similar senior kitchen position
• Advanced culinary skills and expertise in food preparation and cooking techniques
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and HACCP principles
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities with experience supervising kitchen staff

• Excellent organisational and time-keeping skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
• Proficiency in kitchen equipment operation, maintenance, and care
• Ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure during peak service times
• Strong communication and people skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels
• Meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality and consistency
• Experience managing food costs, inventory control, and ordering procedures
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing service demands and kitchen requirements
• Problem-solving abilities and resilience in fast-paced, dynamic environments

**Desirable:**

• Experience with European or international cuisine styles
• Background in menu development, recipe creation, and culinary innovation
• Experience in training, mentoring, and developing kitchen staff

Knowledge of contemporary cooking techniques and food trends

Experience working in Michelin-starred or high-volume establishments

Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent)

Additional Information

37.50 hours, Monday to Friday.
