We are expanding our global Growth Marketing team at Smartly and seeking a passionate marketing professional to join us! As the Director of Marketing Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Marketing team operates efficiently with the right tools, services, and processes while maximizing the impact of all marketing activities. This role combines hands-on marketing automation expertise with high-level strategic planning, cross-functional project management, and operational leadership to enhance marketing performance, scalability, and revenue contribution.

Reporting to the VP of Growth Marketing and leading a team of three, you will be a key member of the global marketing team. You will also collaborate closely with Sales, SDR, Sales Operations, Finance, and the broader marketing team to drive the success of marketing initiatives.

As the Director of Marketing Operations at Smartly, you will:

  • Own the full marketing technology stack, identifying and implementing new tools and integrations.
  • Manage the lead lifecycle, including lead scoring and progression from creation to opportunity, in collaboration with Sales Operations.
  • Ensure data quality and governance by maintaining best practices in key systems, including database hygiene, enrichment, segmentation, and analysis.
  • Lead annual and quarterly marketing planning, setting measurable goals aligned with business priorities.
  • Oversee project management and execution of marketing initiatives, ensuring cross-team alignment, timely delivery, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Manage and allocate the marketing budget, ensuring optimized spend for maximum impact.
  • Own marketing reporting, including marketing attribution models, and build and maintain Salesforce and Marketo Measure dashboards to track marketing performance across the funnel, to inform budget decisions.
  • Define key marketing KPIs and develop cross-functional reporting for performance analysis.
  • Partner with Sales Operations to optimize integrations and data flow between Marketo, Salesforce, and other sales tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve marketing technology issues, optimizing platform performance and efficiency.

10+ years of B2B marketing experience in tech companies (preferably SaaS). Proven experience in marketing operations or with deep proficiency in marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g., Marketo, Hubspot, Salesforce), with preference for Marketo experience. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, Datorama) is a plus.
