The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
You will be responsible for establishing and enhancing metrics and limits to ensure appropriate control over risks across all commercial activities, to include commodities such as power, gas, and certificates. You will develop, implement and utilise models and tools for the Market Risk team and perform analyses across the company’s existing and expanding portfolio on positions, P&L, VaR, scenarios, stress testing, and other risk-related topics. In this role you will also propose and produce risk proposals, securing buy-in from management and key stakeholders, and will improve risk policies and frameworks to ensure they remain current. You will lead and coordinate the team in being operationally ready to onboard new business activities and input opinion and recommendations to the team and the business on an array of risk topics.
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Substantial experience in the energy sector in a risk, pricing, or analytics role;
- Performed an extensive spectrum of risk analysis on aspects such as prices, market liquidity, and portfolio positions, such as computing volatilities, correlations, P&L distributions, value-at-risk, risk premia, etc;
- Developed controls and limits such as on positions and P&Ls for monitoring business activities;
- Authored proposals and papers, and successfully managed stakeholder engagement processes within an analytical or commercial context;
- Experience of driving the planning and implementation of projects, such as onboarding new business activities, making system or process updates, etc;
- Advanced user of Excel and ability to program in at least one language, such as Python, SQL, R, or VBA.
