With Board approval of its ambitious Global Trading Hub Strategy, the business is now expanding its trading platform and retail model into new overseas markets through targeted acquisitions. To deliver this next phase of growth, SmartestEnergy has launched a dedicated Strategy & Business Development Group focused on accelerating expansion across Europe and North America. What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Qualified experience in an M&A environment as a M&A Manager (or equivalent).
- End‑to‑end M&A execution experience, including due diligence, valuation modelling, business case development and post‑merger integration awareness.
- Advanced financial and technical capability, including 3‑way modelling, complex accounting treatments (e.g., IFRS 9, PPA), and strong understanding of tax, regulatory and pricing considerations (ACA/CA/CFA preferred).
- Experience delivering multiple, complex and cross‑border transactions, collaborating with SMEs, navigating governance/approval frameworks, and working within fast‑paced environments such as energy or commodity trading.
