We are seeking a Senior Spot Trader to join our dynamic Optimisation and Structuring (ONS) team. This role is focused on short-term speculative and physical power and gas trading, where you will actively manage market exposures and identify lucrative trading opportunities. With a strong emphasis on profit generation, you’ll contribute directly to the team’s success, leveraging your expertise in spot markets and trading strategies.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with substantial experience in a similar position, who is driven by analytical challenges and thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment! As a Senior Spot Trader, you will enhance the profitability of the team by managing and executing trades across continental European and GB markets, including day-ahead and intra-day trading. Your role will involve developing and refining trading strategies, working closely with analytics teams to build data-driven models, and ensuring compliance with operational and contractual requirements. You will also play a key role in collaborating with the wider ONS and Trading teams to achieve profit targets and foster a positive, team-oriented culture.

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?

  • Substantial experience in spot markets and a good track record from a similar position;
  • Algo Trading experience;
  • Technical Skills (coding abilities e.g. Python): Ability to handle complex numerical data and perform detailed analysis.
