The role is responsible for managing and optimising the SEBL IT delivery portfolio to enable both operational excellence and strategic outcomes. You will provide clear delivery guidance and assurance across a diverse portfolio of projects and programmes, ensuring they are delivered to agreed quality, time and cost standards in line with best practice and the SE delivery framework. A key focus of the role is driving portfolio efficiency, transparency and alignment to IT and business strategy, with a strong emphasis on outcomes, benefits and OKRs.
Responsibilities
- You will provide leadership, line management and coaching to a team of project and programme managers, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting the development of delivery capability across the organisation.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders, PMO, and external vendors, you will shape new IT demand, manage risks and dependencies, resolve delivery blockers, and ensure effective governance and reporting.
- This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, pragmatic portfolio management, and the ability to balance demand, capacity and resources across a complex and evolving change landscape.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex and large-scale IT projects and programmes, including team leadership across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Strong track record in project assurance, governance and control across interdependent projects, applying adaptive and pragmatic delivery approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to assess project feasibility and successfully lead planning, approval and mobilisation of large-scale change initiatives.
- Proven people leadership experience, managing and developing teams to drive improved performance and delivery outcomes.
- Extensive experience managing IT vendors and building effective, value-driven delivery partnerships.
