As part of the second line of defence, you will partner with teams across the business to identify, assess and manage risks, maintain effective controls, and support robust governance during an exciting period of international growth. Your work will help ensure the business operates with confidence, resilience and transparency.
Working closely with the Head of Enterprise & Operational Risk, you’ll lead risk and control reviews, maintain risk registers and process documentation, coordinate internal and external audit activities, and drive continuous improvement across governance, processes and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and proactive risk professional who enjoys influencing stakeholders, improving control frameworks, and making a tangible impact across a dynamic, fast‑growing energy business.
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Proven experience in risk management, internal controls, or external/internal audit, ideally within the energy sector, a risk and controls function, or a professional services firm;
- Strong knowledge of risk and control frameworks (e.g. IRM, SOX, ISO 31000), with experience in identifying risk, design and testing controls and improving operational performances;
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and report‑writing skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively and present findings clearly;
- Good understanding of audit methodologies, business risk assessment, and control evaluation, with the ability to develop practical remediation actions.
