As a Junior Trading Analyst, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Power & Gas trading teams by transforming complex market and trading data into meaningful insights that drive smarter, faster decisions. You'll combine data analytics, automation, and operational expertise to improve the quality, accessibility, and governance of critical trading data, while helping shape the future of our trading operations. How will I spend my time in this role?

  • Maintain and validate high‑quality trading and market data across front, middle, and back‑office systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness;
  • Support traders through deal entry, validation, nomination and pricing support across all products, ensuring trades are captured correctly and on time;
  • Use Python and SQL to analyse, clean, transform, and reconcile trading datasets, supporting daily reporting, checks, and controls;
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of automated reports, dashboards, and data pipelines to support trading, risk, and performance monitoring;
  • Work with modern data platforms (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or equivalent) to query and analyse structured trading and market data;
  • Produce clear, reliable data outputs and summaries to support trading activity, performance review, and internal reporting requirements.

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?

  • Experience working with structured datasets, including use of python/SQL;
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, ideally supported by an academic record in mathematics, economics, engineering, data science, or similar;
  • Familiarity with data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or equivalent.
