We’re transforming our Finance function into a leading practice organisation with scalable processes, high standards of control, and a culture of continuous improvement. As we continue to grow globally and drive innovation across the energy sector, we’re looking for an exceptional technical accounting leader to play a pivotal role in shaping our future.
This is a high-profile, strategically important position that sits at the centre of this transformation. You’ll be the Group’s technical accounting expert, partnering with senior Finance leaders, commercial teams, and external auditors to provide authoritative guidance on complex transactions, acquisitions, and evolving accounting standards. This is a unique opportunity to influence key business decisions, establish best practice across a global group, and build a technical accounting function that will support our growth plans.
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Qualified ACA (or equivalent) with a background in Big 4 audit or advisory and significant post-qualified experience in a senior technical accounting, group reporting, or similar leadership role;
- Expert knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9, IFRS 13 and IFRS 3, with proven experience applying complex accounting standards;
- Experience within the energy, utilities or commodity trading sector, with a strong understanding of financial instruments, commodity contracts, fair value accounting, and the sector-specific accounting challenges these present;
- Excellent management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, prepare robust technical accounting papers and policies, lead discussions with external auditors, and drive consistent accounting standards across a global organisation.
What sets us apart?
- Global Impact: With offices in the UK, US, and Australia, and plans for further expansion, you’ll be part of a dynamic, globally‑minded team, with opportunities to explore new markets and make a difference on a global scale.
- Flexible Working: Embrace the freedom to work from anywhere in the world for up to 30 days a year. We prioritize work‑life balance, recognizing that your well‑being matters.
