The key purpose of this role is to find and appoint talent. In addition, this role will actively contribute to various HR projects and will also be expected to provide cover for HR Generalist operations as and when required. This is a part-time role (3 days per week), working onsite in our Glasgow office at least 1 day per week.
Duties & responsibilities
- Source and appoint the right people to meet business needs.
- Manage candidates and support hiring managers through all aspects of the recruitment process, from advertisement to determining the most appropriate selection/assessment methods, shortlisting candidates, carrying out initial screening calls, arranging interviews as well as all other recruitment administration, providing candidate feedback and making offers.
- Support, where appropriate, the onboarding and induction processes.
- Proactively headhunt for talent, and fill defined roles directly to control process and cost.
- Help to determine competitive salary appointments for roles.
- Guide, support, train and assist hiring managers through the full recruitment process, ensuring compliance, avoiding bias and that the appropriate selection methods are used to drive objective decision-making.
- Manage any agency supplier relationships and monitor performance.
- Manage University partner relationships and maintain SGS’s Graduate Apprentice Programme.
- Represent the Company at University, College, and School career fairs.
- Develop and report on key recruitment metrics.
- Actively contribute to the annual salary benchmarking and pay review processes.
- Manage the visa sponsorship process for migrant workers.
- Contribute to HR Project activity, as required, to support the wider People team and business.
- Undertake HR generalist duties, as required, to support the wider People team and business.
Essential experience and qualifications
- Experience working in an in-house Talent Acquisition role or within a Technical/Engineering Recruitment Agency/Consultancy.
- Experience of recruitment in technology, energy, engineering or another STEM industry.
- Experience of full life cycle recruitment.
- Solid track record in headhunting, and highly skilled in managing direct approaches.
- Experience of using LinkedIn Recruiter to head-hunt and to build talent pipelines.
- Excellent at promoting our Company and exciting candidates about joining our team.
- Dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for every candidate.
- Excellent, proactive networker, with an established network, especially in technology recruitment.
- Experience of identifying and sourcing diverse talent.
- Strong understanding of GDPR and other relevant legislation and its impact on recruitment.
- Ability to work quickly to high standards and under pressure.
- Ability to train managers effectively in order that they are fully equipped to manage their recruitment campaigns, in a compliant manner.
- Willingness to take on a challenge where roles can be niche and hard to fill.
- Excellent commercial mind, with the ability to spot opportunities for SGS to make cost savings in the recruitment process.
- Experience of using an ATS and HRIS.
