Role: Head of Finance
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire (On-site)
We are recruiting a Head of Finance for a well-established, US-owned business based in Royston, Hertfordshire. This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for the finance function, acting as the primary finance partner to the Managing Director and the main interface with the US parent company.
The role
You will lead end-to-end finance operations, ensuring strong financial control, robust reporting, and full statutory compliance. The position also supports acquisition activity and wider operational reporting, with the opportunity to drive process improvement and efficiency.
- Lead and manage the full finance function and direct reports
- Multi-currency monthly reporting (Sterling and US Dollars)
- Cash flow management and credit control
- Statutory compliance and corporate governance (including Company Secretary duties)
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and the US parent company
- Own the annual audit process (preparation and coordination)
- VAT reporting for the UK and Ireland
- Quarterly royalty reporting
- Monthly payroll administration
- Budgeting and forecasting support, including forms for the sales team
- Sales, customer, warehouse, and stock control reporting
- Oversee insurance arrangements (including credit insurance) and pension scheme
- Support acquisition reviews, including financial analysis and due diligence
- Oversee telecoms contracts and support IT development within the business
- Identify and implement process improvements
What we\βre looking for
- Proven experience in a senior finance role with full ownership of the finance function
- Minimum 5 years experience producing monthly management accounts
- Strong credit control and cash flow management capability
- Experience supporting acquisition reviews and/or due diligence
- Confident across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, audit, tax and statutory compliance
- Comfortable producing operational reporting beyond finance (sales, stock, customer reporting)
- Experience in a B2C environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of Pegasus Opera and/or Sage is advantageous
Qualifications
- Ideally professionally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
