We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a global IT environment, supporting the delivery, refresh, and ongoing support of network infrastructure across multiple international sites. This is a hands-on, technical role suited to someone comfortable operating at 3rd line escalation level within a complex, outsourced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and deliver network solutions to defined design specifications
  • Support LAN, WAN, and Firewall technologies including Fortigate, Palo Alto, and Cisco
  • Act as a 3rd line escalation point for network-related incidents and outages
  • Contribute to technical design and collaborate with Architecture teams on standards and solutions
  • Participate in global projects, including testing and deployment of new hardware
  • Produce and maintain clear, standardised technical documentation
  • Work as part of a broader project delivery team in a global environment

Mandatory Requirements

  • Energy industry experience
  • Ability to handle L3 escalations
  • 10+ years of network engineering experience
  • Willingness to undertake minimum 60 days global travel per year
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Fortigate, Palo Alto, and Cisco technologies

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of network design, implementation, and operational support
  • Experience delivering network solutions within projects and live environments
  • Knowledge of industry standards and current technology trends
  • Familiarity with IT service and delivery frameworks (e.g. ITIL, ISO)

Personal Attributes

  • Strong communicator with a collaborative, team-focused mindset
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Flexible and willing to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice

This role is office-based in Aberdeen and requires onsite presence.
