About the Role
We’re looking for a hands‑on, growth‑minded PR Manager to help turn SmartBuyGlasses into a brand people recognise, recommend, and search for by name. This is not a corporate PR role. You’ll be in the trenches: pitching journalists, opening doors with influencers and partners, shipping ambassador deals, landing tier‑1 coverage, and making the brand felt across podcasts, social, and editorial.
You’ll get the editorial and PR fundamentals right first — press releases, journalist relationships, content hygiene. Then scale into the bigger plays: viral collabs, house‑brand collections, ambassador programmes, sports and community partnerships, and earned coverage that gets cited in LLMs and AI search.
You’ll lead two in‑house specialists (PR and Copy Specialist, Content Specialist), partner closely with merchandising, influencer, creative, and SEO, and have full visibility and direct access to the founding team.
What You’ll Do
- Own the commercial outcome of PR and Partnerships: branded search growth, new‑market awareness, contribution to organic revenue
- Lead a team of two: a PR and Copy Specialist and a Content Specialist. Set priorities, run the cadence, raise the bar
- Get the fundamentals right first: press releases, editorial direction, brand storytelling, content hygiene
- Partner with merchandising on house‑brand collections with influencers, designers, and cultural figures. Small, sharp, fashion‑forward drops
- Run our Brand Ambassador programme: real ambassadors with real reach, not token influencer gifting
- Build a diversified earned media footprint that drives branded demand: tier‑1 publications, niche authority sites, cultural outlets. These are the mentions that feed LLMs and build authority
- Drive partnerships: sports RX, smart eyewear, community sports teams, NGO tie‑ups, cultural institutions. Make SmartBuyGlasses a name people encounter outside the ad break
- Make us heard everywhere: podcasts, Reddit, LinkedIn, newspapers, TV, editorial — brand mention volume is what feeds SEO and AI search visibility
- Work hand in hand with our Social and Influencer lead to convert influencer reach into branded search lift
- Set editorial direction for brand content on site: storytelling, launches, collab narratives, brand pages. Work with our SEO lead on priorities
- Run the editorial engine week‑to‑week: calendar, brief templates, review loops, output quality, speed to publish
- Track AI search visibility (SGE, AI Overviews, LLMs) and shape PR and mentions so our brand surfaces in the answers
- Run disciplined experiments on formats, hooks, and distribution. Kill what doesn’t work fast
- Translate results into clear commercial insights — no fluff reporting
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years hands‑on experience in PR, Brand, or Partnerships at a consumer, fashion, lifestyle, or e‑commerce brand, with direct ownership of commercial outcomes
- Alignment with our company’s 5 core values: Passionate, Entrepreneurial, Smart, Collaborative and Caring
- Growth mindset. You open doors, pick up the phone, follow up, ship at 85%. You don’t wait for permission or perfect briefs
- Track record of collabs, brand partnerships, or licensing wins you can point to by name (size doesn’t matter as much as the story)
- Experience placing media coverage in fashion, lifestyle, or business publications
- Comfortable working with merchandising and product teams on branded collaborations and collections
- Strong commercial acumen — you think in branded search lift, repeat rate, and revenue, not impressions or EMV
- Experience integrating PR with influencer and social to drive brand awareness
- Experience managing a small in‑house team or wanting to step up to it
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- You partner naturally with SEO and performance teams — you know what feeds search and AI visibility even if you don’t own the technical side
- Self‑starter with a bias for action
- A strategic mindset with strong understanding of brand building, user behaviour, and funnel metrics
- High attention to detail and a proactive, self‑starting attitude
- Problem‑solving ability and creativity in a fast‑paced environment
- A passion for learning and improving continuously
