Quality Control Operative - Laboratory We are working with an established and growing manufacturing organisation to recruit a Quality Control Operative to join their laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented laboratory professional to play a key role in maintaining product quality across raw materials, work-in-progress products, and finished goods. Working closely with Production, Technical, and Operations teams, you will support quality assurance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure products consistently meet customer and industry standards. Key Responsibilities * Conduct routine laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. * Carry out physical and chemical testing in accordance with established procedures and relevant industry standards. * Record, analyse, and report laboratory test results accurately and in a timely manner. * Monitor product quality and identify non-conforming materials, products, or processes. * Provide quality feedback and technical support to production teams. * Calibrate, maintain, and verify laboratory equipment to ensure testing accuracy. * Assist with product investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. * Maintain high standards of laboratory housekeeping and compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures. * Support internal audits and continuous improvement activities across the site. * Manage and retain quality samples in accordance with company procedures and quality standards. Requirements * Previous experience working within a quality control or laboratory environment. * Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. * Good communication and organisational skills. * Understanding of quality management systems and laboratory testing procedures. Desirable Experience * Experience within the cement, dry mortar, concrete, construction materials, or related manufacturing industries. * Knowledge of British and European testing standards. * Experience supporting raw material testing and product development activities. * Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems. * Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
