Opportunity for a Process Safety Engineer to join an award winning polymers and specialist chemicals manufacturer in Greater Manchester.

As a Senior Process Safety Engineer you will be responsible for technical safety support, ensuring implementation of process safety and regulatory requirements including DSEAR and COMAH.

Duties include:

  • Produce technical safety and process engineering deliverables
  • Develop safety engineering philosophies
  • Chair, lead and participate in process safety assessments / studies including HAZID, HAZOP and SIL
  • Input to project design assurance reviews (P&ID, constructability, etc)
  • Develop and implement functional safety plans

You should have:

  • Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline
  • Relevant professional experience working as a Process Safety Engineer at a senior level
  • Experience and proficiency in process operations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of COMAH, DSEAR plus latest risk assessment techniques / relevant H&S legislation
  • Demonstrable experience of leading safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA)
  • Technically proficient in all areas of process safety and loss prevention (HAZOP, PHA, etc)
