A well-established and growing British manufacturer within the tiling and flooring sector is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its factory-based senior leadership team.
With over 70 years of manufacturing expertise, the business specialises in cement- and epoxy-based systems including tile adhesives, grouts, smoothing compounds, screeds, moisture control systems, and specialist mortars. The company also manufactures for a number of well-known domestic and international brands and continues to expand both in the UK and overseas markets.
The Technical Manager will play a key role within the senior management team, working closely with the Laboratory Manager, Chemists, QC Team, and Operations Manager. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing product specifications and handling technical complaints
- Overseeing Technical Data Sheets and packaging technical information
- Managing NBS specification and MSDS software systems
- Supporting the wider technical team with product-led systems development
- Maintaining ISO and BBA accreditations
- Managing a Technical Assistant
- Contributing to continuous improvement and technical best practice
The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing training to ensure full product and systems knowledge.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous technical or technical services experience within the cement-based tiling and/or flooring sector
- Strong knowledge of relevant BS/EN tiling and flooring standards
- Experience maintaining ISO and BBA accreditations
- Experience managing adhesives, screeds, grouts, or mortars (highly desirable)
- Experience managing or mentoring technical teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a process-driven approach
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office
