An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Development Chemist to join a fast-growing, highly innovative manufacturing business in the FMCG and homecare sector. This role would suit a hands-on development chemist with strong formulation experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through to launch in a fast-paced commercial environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in driving product innovation and continuous improvement across a varied portfolio of liquid cleaning and homecare products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will support the development, optimisation, and launch of new and existing formulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and reformulate products within the homecare / FMCG sector
- Carry out formulation trials, benchmarking, and performance testing
- Support manufacturing scale-up and production trials
- Drive cost optimisation and continuous product improvement
- Work closely with Quality, Operations, and Commercial teams
- Ensure products meet relevant regulatory and performance requirements
- Support claims substantiation and technical documentation
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in formulation or development chemistry
- Background within FMCG, chemicals, detergents, homecare, personal care, cosmetics, or related industries
- Experience developing liquid formulations is highly desirable
- Degree qualified in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
