Smart10 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Administrator on behalf of our client based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual to support the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) function and contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace.

The Health & Safety Administrator will provide essential day-to-day administrative support to the HSE Manager, ensuring that systems, processes, and documentation are accurately maintained. You will play a key role in supporting compliance, coordinating training and audits, tracking actions, and promoting a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HSE Manager and wider team.
  • Maintain health & safety documentation, registers, and records in line with legal requirements.
  • Assist with incident, accident, and near-miss reporting systems and track corrective actions.
  • Coordinate training sessions, inductions, and refresher courses while monitoring expiry dates.
  • Prepare reports, statistics, and dashboards to support compliance and decision-making.
  • Support audits and inspections through document preparation and evidence collation.
  • Act as a point of contact for HSE-related administrative queries and communications.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within a health & safety or regulated environment (desirable).
  • Basic understanding of health & safety principles is advantageous.

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • NVQ / Diploma in Business Administration or similar.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
