Tax Manager in St Albans

Tax Manager Location: Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 per annum (based on full-time hours) Job Type: Part Time, 3 days per week, 20 hrs in total Working Arrangement: Office Based The Opportunity SMT Recruitment are currently working with a well-established accountancy practice based in Wheathampstead, who are looking to recruit an experienced Tax Manager to join their team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who is looking for a varied and rewarding position within a professional and supportive working environment. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring tax compliance requirements are met whilst providing professional advice and guidance on a range of taxation matters. Key Responsibilities * Preparation and submission of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals. * Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Returns for limited companies. * Preparation and calculation of Capital Gains Tax liabilities and returns. * Managing client tax compliance requirements, ensuring all deadlines are met. * Providing advice and guidance to clients on relevant tax legislation and regulations. * Liaising directly with clients regarding tax queries and ongoing requirements. * Dealing with HMRC correspondence and enquiries as required. * Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with current tax legislation. * Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients. Skills and Experience Required * A recognised tax and/or accountancy qualification. * Previous experience working within a tax focused role, ideally within an accountancy practice. * Good working knowledge of Personal Tax, Corporation Tax and Capital Gains Tax. * Previous tax advisory experience or experience working with HMRC would be advantageous. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. * Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients. * High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
