Overview

Manchester City Centre, full time, permanent. The Partnerships & Philanthropy Manager will lead all fundraising activity, including stakeholder partnerships and grant/trust income, overseeing a six‑figure annual income portfolio. They will work with the Head of Smart Works Greater Manchester, the Events & Comms Lead, and the Board of Trustees to deliver the fundraising strategy, activity plan, manage the budget, and support the organisation’s long‑term sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all fundraising activity, including stakeholder partnerships and grant/trust income, across a six‑figure annual income portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Smart Works Greater Manchester, the Events & Comms Lead, and the Board of Trustees to deliver the fundraising strategy and activity plan.
  • Manage the fundraising budget and contribute to the organisation’s long‑term sustainability.
  • Represent Smart Works Greater Manchester in internal and external forums, supporting events and networking activities (some evening and weekend work required).
  • Work as part of the wider SWGM team, including the Stockport centre, with occasional flexibility to work from there.

Requirements

  • Energetic, creative and forward‑thinking individual with strong communication and networking skills.
  • Proven experience in generating income and stewarding donor, partner and supporter relationships.
  • Self‑starting, proactive approach with strong organisational abilities.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends and travel as needed within the SWGM network.
  • Based at the Smart Works centre in Manchester city centre.
  • Ability to work as part of a team across multiple centres (Manchester and Stockport) and to engage with peers in a charity network.
